What it is, and what decides it.

The hex bolt is the default structural fastener, and the one where specification is most often quietly lost. A bolt is designed into a connection at a particular property class; fit a lower class and the joint is weaker, but nothing about the assembly looks any different.

Maximal Energy supplies hex bolts to the grade and thread specification stated on the drawing. Where a project calls for a particular class, thread form or finish, that requirement is carried through manufacturing rather than substituted at the last stage.
